This project will allow students to run with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain at the festival of San Fermín from the comfort and safety of the classroom using virtual reality. The objective is to give students an immersive cultural experience in addition to learning about this world famous event and festival. The students will use Google cardboard viewers along with a smartphone and the google cardboard application.
This is a writing exercise for a novice German class focussing on writing a fictional personal ad. The exercise is built around the tool PADLET which allows students to share their writing in real time with their classmates. This project comes with a video that talks about the advantages of this exercise but it also points out what instructors need to be aware of. Using the music video "Territory" from French musicians The Blaze, students will interpret a representation of an Algerian family with a worksheet designed using a multiliteracies pedagogical approach. Before watching the video in class, students will read an excerpt of an interview in French with the musicians and answer true and false comprehension questions for homework.
This in-class activity guides students through the process of planning an imaginary vacation in France, using the home exchange website Abritel. Students explore Abritel's various vacation housing options, including beachside cottages, chalets, or even rooms in private castles. Using a worksheet, students complete a variety of tasks, describing the location they chose, and imagining what they will do during their holiday.
